The Circles Of Control
Over recent weeks in coaching and in workshops I've been talking to clients about the circles of control, which at the time I thought was a refresher to help people navigate through the situation we find ourselves in and and to stop wasting time, energy and attention on the things we can't control, but, it turns out a lot of people had never heard of them.
And so today, I've recorded a really quick video on a very simple and practical tool that I use in a number of situations to help me focus on what I can control and influence, and where I let go of the things I cannot control or influence. And trust me, as a self-confessed recovering control freak, this tool has helped me no end in the past and I'm sure it will continue to do so in the future.
As People Leaders we often assume that we have more control over things than other people, in reality, we only have control over ourselves. Learning how to focus our attention only on the things we can control and influence is a real skill and one that will be of benefit time and time and time again.
