Burnoutology.
Coaching is no longer safe unless it’s burnout-informed.
For a Burnout-Informed world.
You close LinkedIn after seeing another shallow burnout post with 200 likes whilst you’re sitting at 200 views, knowing you’re the better coach.
A client says "I just need to push through this quarter" and you don't know how hard to interrupt it. Another client thanks you and says the session was helpful, and you lie awake wondering if you just caused harm.
You guided someone toward rest and boundaries when what they actually needed was for you to name the burnout equation they’re living inside. But you didn't have the framework to hold that conversation safely. So you didn't have it.
You've lived burnout. You know what it costs. And because you know that, your integrity won't let you claim "specialist" when you know the gap is real.
If any of that is you, you're in the right place.
Most coaches are supporting people through burnout whether they realise it or not.
Very few actually understand it, meaning that not all coaching is safe for burnout.
That changes here.
Burnout has increased dramatically over the last decade.
But has our ability to coach it, evolved at the same pace?
Why this work matters.
My first burnout made me seriously ill. My second almost killed me.
Chronic pain. Passing out on trains and at the top of escalators. Two surgeries in 48 hours. Sevem months of my body being destroyed from the inside out.
Both times, I had a coach. Skilled, ethical and qualified coaches.
And I know, without any doubt, that if my coaches had been able to spot burnout, mine could have been prevented.
Standard coaching tools still apply when clients are depleted, but they’re not enough. You already know this or you wouldn’t be here.
I couldn’t find what I needed to understand what had happened to me, or what my clients were going through. So I trained, studied, and built what was needed.
I’ve spent 12 years joining the dots of what burnout really is. I’ve coached 700+ leaders through burnout. I’ve trained over 200 coaches from 15 countries. And now my PhD is focused on the cognitive impact of burnout and how coaching can be the secret weapon in the fight against it.
Kelly
Burnoutology is not a coaching framework.
It’s a discipline built on my Burnout Equation:
Toxicity − Sense of Self = Burnout
And applied through the 4 S’s
State - Safety - Self - Strategy
Burnout doesn’t live in one place, it shows up cognitively (the mind), somatically (the body) and neurologically (the nervous system). And it’s driven by conditions that feed toxicity and erode sense of self: masking, belonging gaps, moral injury, systemic toxicity, identity erosion and environmental threat.
Standard coaching assumes the client is ready for strategy. Burnoutology begins where the client actually is, in their state, building safety first, recovering second, and only then engaging in strategy.
Burnout makes coaching safe, ethical and effective.
The Practioner Pathway.
Five levels. One discipline.
Whether you’re just beginning to recognise burnout in your coaching practice or you’re ready to build your entire business around it, the Practitioner Pathway takes you from awareness, to mastery.

s.It is for coaches who:
• already feel the cost of not seeing burnout clearly
• care about safety, ethics, and long-term impact
• are willing to change how they coach, not just what they know
If that’s you, your next step is simple - step into mastery.
Burnout ends here.

Why we need to call BS on Workplace Wellbeing to finally banish burnout
“The Master Burnout Coach programme has been a genuine game‑changer for my practice.
After years of coaching leaders who were stressed, depleted and questioning their worth, I was looking for an approach that truly met the reality of burnout.
The depth, supervision‑style conversations and quality of support in this programme are unlike anything I’ve experienced.
It’s given me both clarity and confidence in how I support clients.
— Sarah Bickerstaff
“The Burnout-Informed Coach wasn’t just insightful it was transformational. Kelly doesn’t just talk about burnout, she makes you feel it, recognise it, and learn how to stop it in its track before it destroys health, careers and businesses.
In this training she holds space like no-one else, blending breathwork, somatic coaching, and mindfulness to help us reconnect with our bodies and truly understand the impact of burnout. It’s wasn’t just theory, it was felt, experienced and actionable.
I walked away not just informed, but armed, and ready to better support my clients, spot burnout earlier, and tackling burnout head on.”
— Mike Bedford
“The Master Burnout coach programme has given me some much needed time to focus on my coaching practice, as well as some absolutely phenomenal new inclusions for my coaching sessions.
The focus on neuroscience and being burnout informed has absolutely changed the game for me in terms of how I work with my clients.”
