Why I’ll Never Offer a Self-Study Burnout Course (and What You Should Know Before You Buy One)

At The Burnout Academy, I get asked the same thing almost weekly:

“Do you offer your Burnout training as an online course?”

“Can I just buy the content and learn at my own pace?”

“Is there a DIY version I can do on the weekends?”

It’s tempting to say yes.

It’s scalable. It’s passive income. It would probably sell well.

But I don’t offer a self-study Burnout course.

And I never will.

Here’s why.

Burnout Isn’t a Checklist

You can’t learn to spot Burnout from a slide deck.

You can’t ask follow-up questions to a video.

You can’t feel the nervous system state of a client from a downloadable worksheet.

Burnout shows up in the coaching room as confusion, resistance, fatigue, freeze, fog, fawning.

And if you’re not trained to recognise it, you might mistake it for mindset, misalignment, or lack of commitment.

That’s where the harm starts.

This Isn’t About Knowledge. It’s About Responsibility.

I’m not just here to pass on facts, I’m here to improve the way you coach.

Because when you’re working with someone at Burnout, you’re not coaching the version of them who signed up to your programme.

You’re coaching the version who’s running on fumes.

Live training gives you:

  • Case studies you can interrogate

  • Conversations where things get challenged

  • Supervision-level insights you can take into your next session

  • Confidence to know what to do—and what not to do

Self-study can’t give you that.

And when it comes to Burnout, I believe anything less is unethical.

What I Offer Instead

My flagship masterclass - Think You Know Burnout? Let’s Find Out - is my live entry point.

It’s bold, punchy, and practical.

It doesn’t just tell you what Burnout is.

It shows you where you’ve been missing it—and what to do next.

The next session is July 1st.

It’s 90 minutes, £99.

It’s the only first step we recommend.

Because Burnout isn’t just a concept. It’s a condition. And the people you work with deserve better than guesswork.

Book your place now.
